Gifts and Donations

Gifts of books, magazines, videos, CDs, books-on-tape and audio tapes are welcome and become the property of Campbell County Public Library. They must be in good condition, books are not acceptable if they have water damage, smoke damage or mildew odor. Magazines older than two years are not accepted unless they are National Geographic. All donated items are reviewed to determine if they fit into our collection. If so, they are cataloged and placed on the shelves. If they do not fit our collection criteria, The Library Foundation, Inc. may sell them at their annual book sale or deliver them to other service-oriented agencies within the county. They may also be placed on the library's giveaway shelves.

Monetary donations can be designated toward the purchase of memorial books, art work, computers, programs, endowment fund, or special projects. Checks should be made payable to The Library Foundation, Inc.

Memorials

Choosing to remember a loved one or friend with a memorial book given to the library provides a lasting gift to honor that person. Great care is taken by library staff to select a book the deceased would have enjoyed. Suggested titles or subjects are appreciated. A memorial bookplate is placed in the book and an acknowledgment card is sent to the family telling them the name of the book and the donor's name.
