| Overview
Balance in the Adult nonfiction collection is determined by use and demand.
The library seeks to select materials of varying complexity and format
because it serves mainly the sixteen-year-old to adult patron covering
a wide range of educational and interest levels. The library strives to
develop a collection that considers currency, content, scope, depth of
coverage, and popularity. A strong core collection in each Dewey area
should be maintained.
The collection is continually evaluated in terms of use, currency, content,
depth, and popularity. Continuous weeding and responsible replacement
of damaged or lost titles helps maintain a collection that reflects changing
needs and library goals.
