WELCOME to the Young Adult Department!
This department offers services to young adults and those who work with teens. We provide a selection of Young Adult literature both Fiction and Nonfiction, plan programs of teen interest, and work with teen volunteers. The Young Adult Services Manager is available to give booktalks, explain library services and do school or organization visits. Questions, concerns, or comments regarding these services can be directed to me by e-mail or by calling 687-9227.
--- Sue Knesel, Youth Services Manager
The teen room is space set aside for teens to gather in and use at the library. The space offers teens internet access, a courtesy phone, television and VCR/DVD player, a radio/cassette/CD player, board and computer games, and a place to spread out to eat and drink. Appropriate furniture is provided for relaxing.
The leisure reading and research materials are collected to meet the young adult community's needs. The library provides a separate Young Adult Fiction collection and houses the Young Adult Nonfiction with the Adult Nonfiction. A leisure reading magazine collection is provided in the Young Adult area with the Young Adult Fiction collection. View our Collection Development Policy to see what guidelines we follow in our selection process.
The Young Adult Department offers two to three teen programs a month. The Teen Advisory Board gives direction to program planning and ideas of teen interest. View the current calendar of teen events.
